Mothers Day Celebrations

The word “Mother” carries multiple meanings for different people. For some, she’s a source of comfort, for others, she’s the bedrock of support, or even the first teacher. This highlights the importance of a mother in everyone’s life.

While Mother’s Day is celebrated globally on a single day each year, at GrabOn, we believe in showing respect and love to your mother every day, not just on a single occasion. A simple “I Love You” can brighten her day and make her feel special.

“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow” -Maya Angelou

Mother’s Day Date

This year, Mother’s Day falls on May 12th, dedicated to honoring motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. In today’s world, where everyone is quick to pass judgment, it’s important to recognize the challenges mothers face in raising children.

So what is the history of Mother’s Day? And when did it come to light?

History & Significance of Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is celebrated every second Sunday of May. Anna Jarvis was the first person to make Mother’s Day a recognised holiday in the United States in 1908 to honor her mother, Ann Reese Jarvis, who was a peace activist. Anna’s mother’s memorial took place at St. Andrews Methodist Church in West Virginia, which is now known as the Mother’s Day Shrine. It was Anna’s belief that a mother is,

“The person who has done more for you than anyone in the world”

How to make Mother’s Day Special?

With significance comes celebration! A small gesture of gratitude and affection can bring joy to a mother’s heart. You can give her a bouquet, book, accessory, clothing, or surprise her with breakfast in bed. Here are some ideas to make Mother’s Day extra special.
DIY gifts or crafts

What’s better than making a gift with your own hands? A handmade photo frame, flowers with a small note, making accessories, a painting, or a drawing not only makes it a budget-friendly and time-saving option but also cherishes all the efforts and memories!

Bake/Cook
Cook a special meal for your mother. You can always cook an extravagant dish or make a small breakfast before your mum wakes up to surprise her!

Take her out
Take her on a special outing. This could be going out for a nice dinner or taking a trip to a favorite place. Don’t forget to tell her how much you love her and spend time with her.

Pamper her
Make sure she has time to herself. This can be done by sending her on a spa day, relaxing walk or simply allowing her time alone. Serve your mother with love. It’s important to show your mother that you care about her and her well-being.

Keep in touch
Write a heartfelt letter to your mother expressing your admiration and appreciation for her role. Regularly staying in touch and being there for her when she needs you will mean a lot to her.
